Production Worker Cooperatives

Production worker cooperatives need to be formed, based on the Mondragon Cooperative Corporation model.  My interest is in raising capital for production worker cooperatives in the context of a non-casino stock exchange.  See:  Small Business Investment Exchange:  http://sbic.wetpaint.com

Welcome, James!

Glad to have you with us in the Coalition for Capital Homesteading. Mondragon is a good model of worker ownership. We are interested in developing working models of broad-based citizen ownership through Capital Homesteading, such as with the Citizens Land Bank and Homeowners Equity Corporation. Looking forward to being in touch.

Own or be owned,

Jim,

Let's talk over the phone.  Dawn's concentrating on upgrading the CESJ website.  What's the best number and time for calling you over the weekend.

Dear Dawnk, Norm and Stephanie,

I would love to talk to any one or all of you folks about worker cooperatives.  I am in league with your objective to raise capital for worker-owned enterprises.  My major academic paper on the subject is: Mutual Aid Society, Mondragon, and More;  http://masallp.wikifoundry.com/page/Mutual+Aid+Society,+Mondragon+and+More

I have two major ways of raising equity as well as debt capital.  The first is to establish a "Socially Responsible Stock Exchange" as opposed to the existing casino stock exchanges.  Please read: SMALL BUSINESS INVESTMENT EXCHANGE; http://sbic.wififoundry.com   The other way is to use a credit union in connection with a crowd-funding project.  As soon as the SEC's crowd-funding regulations become effective, we will need to get a prospectus and all associated legal documents ready to file.  I'll do the drafting, but we will need a qualified securities attorney to red pencil my work.  I was a member of the California State Bar for 41 years but am no longer an active member.  I've done a fair amount of California-only issues and some work at the Federal securities level.

My office phone is 270-862-4379.  My cell is: 270-390-1264.  Call anytime.  I also have Skype if you wish to use it.

Regards,

Jim
